It looks like the Game of Thrones showrunners already have their post-Game of Thrones plans ready because they have been tapped to direct the first Star Wars film after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
While we know that the first Star Wars movie that would be outside the Skywalker Saga wouldn't release until 2022, we didn't know whether it would be David Benioff and D.B. Weiss' saga or Rian Johnson's.
During a recent Disney investors call Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that the next Star Wars film would be written by the Game of Thrones showrunners!
Now this could be a good or bad thing based on how you view the current season of Game of Thrones as many fans have claimed it has been the worst season yet just because of the showrunners decision to only have six episodes.
The bright side is that we'll have a dedicated team to a saga in the Star Wars galaxy and we might even get dragons!?
