Every week I throw it back to something awesome from any year before 2017 (or whatever year it is when you read this) that captured the hearts of hundreds of people and this week's throwback, which might be the oldest throwback, is in honor of a franchise many, including me, hold very dearly because it's AMAZING , it's Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope!
This is by FAR my favorite movie because it has everything you need: love, action, space fights, robots, and strange hairy creatures! Back on May 25, 1977 the world was graced with a film that even the director, George Lucas, didn't think would be successful made over $750 million dollars and would make every kid buy a fake lightsaber or pretend a cardboard wrapping paper roll was their lightsaber!
You had characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, and Princess Leia become instant sensations that people name their kids after the franchise! Heck the only thing I ate lunch in was my Star Wars lunchbox!
AS you most likely know, the saga didn't just end with A New Hope and has expanded into a multi-billion dollar franchise with movies, television shows, toys, games, and more! The next installment in the epic space saga, Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, will come out later this year on December 18th!
