If you are the youngest in your family, rejoice!!
According to academics at Birmingham and Reading universities, the youngest children of non-entrepreneurial families are more likely to become risk-taking business people later in life meaning that you have a higher chance of being a millionaire.
How Do They Know?
The research followed more than 6,300 British men and women born in 1970 and raised with siblings.
The study went on to claim that with families with two siblings in it, the youngest was 49 percent more likely to experiment with entrepreneurship and become his or her own boss. And in families with three siblings in it, the youngest was 43 percent more likely to.
That is almost 2-1 odds!
Okay you said for Non-entrepreneurial Families! What About Entrepreneur Families?
For children who were born into families with a history of self-employment, the first and middle-born siblings were more likely to become entrepreneurs, with the youngest only had an 18% chance of doing the same.
Talk about a shift in stats!
But How?! The Oldest Sibling are Supposed to be Smarter!
The study, published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, concluded that last-borns were ‘born to rebel’ and are ‘more likely to be risk-takers’.
Youngest siblings were ‘more likely to be exploratory, unconventional and tolerant of risk’.
