LISTEN: Charli XCX shares her "open door policy"

There seems to be a little trend right now in music- people reminiscing on not only the 90s, but the specific lyrics of songs from the 90s. One of those songs- Charli XCX and Troye Sivan's "1999."

As a lover of the 90s, the song, and of course, the video, I had to talk to Charli about it all. What I didn't know is that we'd also talk about how she met Troye Sivan and came up with the idea- at a party at her house.

"I have an open door [policy] with house parties.. like anyone can come," she said. "and he came to one of my parties."

She said she's always a little scared about having a party, but "it's one of her hobbies" and she just drinks a lot of champagne and gets over it.

Charli XCX also talked about filming the video, which is absolutely perfectly packed with so many 90s scenes. Why did she choose what she did? What scene made her and Troye laugh uncontrollably? Not surprisingly- it was the Titanic scene.

BONUS CHAT: Why she's so obsessed with Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus right now.

Listen to it all in the podcast below, and if you haven't seen the video, definitely check that out and see how many references you can pick up.
