A TORNADO WATCH has been issue for Friday until 9pm across the Maryland and Virginia areas, surrounding the metro areas of Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Frederick, MD.
A strong line of thunderstorms is expected to move through the region this afternoon, some packing winds of 50-60 MPH and possibly hail. Conditions are favorable for the potential of some tornadic activity. If a tornado forms, it's likely to be weak, but still very dangerous.
In the event this TORNADO WATCH becomes a WARNING, that means a tornado has been spotted either visually or indicated on radar and you should secure yourself in an interior room away from windows, or in a basement.
