A Russian YouTuber Just Created The World's First Retractable Lightsaber

We're one step closer to living in a Star Wars galaxy because a Russian YouTuber was just recognized by Guinness World Records as the creator of the world’s first retractable lightsaber!

YouTuber Alex Burkan runs the YouTube channel Alex Lab and was recognized earlier this month by Guinness for creating a real-life lightsaber that produces a 3.28-foot plasma blade and can reach up to 5,072 Fahrenheit.

You can see the lightsaber in action in the video below, but it can reportedly cut through steel just like in the movies and while the blade only lasts for 30 seconds right now, you know it's only going to get better from here.

Burkan also said in his recognition video that he plans to work on a real-life Iron Man suit next so he's doing the Lord's work for us nerds!
