LEGO has essentially become the go-to hobby for a TON of adults and in doing so it's officially valued more than gold according to a new study!

According to new research from the Higher School of Economics in Russia, retired LEGO sets have increased in value by 11% this past year, which is actually higher than the average return you would get for selling gold.

Researchers analyzed the prices of 2,322 unopened Lego sets from 1987 to 2015 and this might have happened because of the small number of sets produced and the limited number of people who want to sell their Legos after they buy them.

The sets that see the biggest growth in value on the secondary market are those related to famous buildings, movies, or holidays. As such, it shouldn’t be a surprise that some of the most expensive Lego sets include the Millennium Falconthe Death Star II, and the Imperial Star Destroyer.

Time to start investing in your future by buying more LEGO sets!
