Central Park Is The Most-Used Filming Location In The World

Turns out the movie industry really loves Central Park in New York City because a new study reveals that the area is the most-used filming location in the entire world!

The study was conducted by NetCredit and found that not only is Central Park the US's most popular filming location, but with 532 different film credits, it's also the most-used location in the world.

A few of the movies that have filmed there include: Elf, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, The Avengers, and When Harry Met Sally among hundreds of other movies. Apparently the first movie to film in Central Park was the 1908 silent film Romeo and Juliet and ever since then it's been a staple film location.

Here are the other top film locations that are commonly used in movies as well:

  • Bronson Canyon, California - 285 films
  • Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park, California - 253 films
  • Cabo de Gata, Spain - 99 films
  • St. Mark's Square, Italy - 54 films
  • Atacama Desert, Chile - 50 films

I think I just found your next bucket list of places to visit and recreate movies at!
