Joaquin Phoenix's 'Joker' Trailer Isn't The Joker You're Used To!

The Joker is one of the most ICONIC characters in pop culture and has had so many people give different interpretations of the character, but Joaquin Phoenix might be taking it in a whole different direction based on the NEW trailer for Joker!

While this is technically the second trailer for the film, it gives us a better look at the world that director Todd Phillips is trying to create and I'm pretty sure it won't connect to the larger universe of Aquaman, Shazam, and Wonder Woman.

The whole trailer is set to Stephen Sondheim’s “Send in the Clowns,” which is probably the best song for it, and it looks like The Joker in this film will be seen as more of an inspiration/champion for human rights.

Phillips has said that he expects people to get mad about the film so maybe be on your guard if you're going to see the film when it comes out in October. Check out the trailer below!

Joker will be in theaters starting on October 4, but if you happen to be going to the Venice International Film Festival, then you'll be able to see it on August 31!
