Nicole Quiroga, Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Nicole Quiroga, a native of Washington D.C., is the President and CEO of the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In this current position, Ms. Quiroga promotes and strengthens the economic growth and development of the Greater Washington Hispanic business community. Ms. Quiroga’s expertise in strategic planning, member services, program management, economic development, nonprofit operations, and fundraising plays a vital role in fostering the continued success of GWHCC members, partners and sponsors. Her experiences in business development, journalism, multi-cultural marketing and business planning directly aligns with the position she holds at GWHCC.

Prior to the Chamber, Nicole was the General Manager of Telemundo Washington DC and Telemundo Richmond, VA. In this position, Nicole predicted market trends, set budgets and performance expectations, ensured station compliance with FCC requirements and had overall responsibility for maintaining and growing the profitability of both stations. Before becoming General Manager, Nicole was the Business Development Director and managed both national and local accounts for both stations. She increased her individual revenue base from $250,000 to $1,800,000 in 5 years. Nationally, she was the youngest woman named General Manager of 2 Telemundo Stations in the history of the company.

Ms. Quiroga is highly experienced in the planning, financing and executing of local and national campaigns that focus on the advancement of Latinos in the U.S. to include Hispanic-targeted trade shows, grassroots events and over-the-air initiatives. An example of this was when she produced and launched Agenda, a bi-lingual, public affairs television program produced in partnership with ABC7/News Channel 8.

Nicole has been recognized with various awards because of her work. Over the years, The Washington Business Journal has made her a Women Who Mean Business Award Recipient (2014), a 40 Under 40 Award Recipient (2010) and a Minority Business Award Recipient (2010). She was honored with the Maryland Hispanic Business Conference Latina Powerhouse Award (2015)and was the Governor Martin O’Malley Outstanding Media Award Recipient (2014).Because of her commitment to the advancement of the Hispanic community, she also was the recipient of the Public Service Leadership Award from the Hispanic Heritage Foundation in 2014.

Nicole has been a Board Member of The Harvard Journal of Hispanic Policy, The Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Greater Washington, Holy Cross Hospital, the Latino Student Fund and the Girl Scouts of the National Capital Area.

Nicole is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Kennedy School, Leadership Greater Washington, the National Hispanic Leadership Institute and the Emerging Leaders Institute.
