Zoos Are Experiencing a Baby Boom Amid Lockdowns

Humans are not the only ones using this down time to rekindle some flames and get it poppin’ during the corona-virus lock down.

In the last two months 15 babies were born, and the West Bank is experiencing an unprecedented baby boom — from baboons to peacocks. Three times more than usual, the Vet has been working overtime to say the least.

Covid-19 started spreading around the time the animals we’re expected to give birth, and since the Zoo shut its doors to visitors, certain animals were able to have proper births without as many people being around.

The lock down has been good for the Zoo community, last month a Zoo in Siberia also welcomed a ton of babies!!
