Iconic Epcot Attraction Closes As Disney World Park Undergoes Major Changes

Walt Disney World's Epcot

An iconic Walt Disney World attraction located in Epcot has officially closed its doors for the foreseeable future. Club Cool, the beloved international Coca-Cola tasting station, shuttered while the park undergoes massive changes. The spot, which was a popular place to take a break from the Florida heat, had its last day of operation on Saturday (September 7).

Though there's no official word from the House of Mouse about when, exactly, Club Cool will return to Epcot, they did offer a cryptic statement about how it will return. Disney revealed Club Cool "will reopen in a new capacity at a future merchandise location." So, the version of Club Cool that guests know and love is gone for good, however, there's hope that it may come back new and improved in a different location.

Frequent park guests and Disney super fans took to social media to share their love for the now closed Club Cool. Jokes about Italy's version of Coca-Cola, known as Beverly, were easy to find, as well.

Club Cool isn't the only Epcot attraction to be shuttered recently. The Fountain of Nations and Fountain View featuring Starbucks have also been closed for the park renovations. The string of closures are part of Epcot's total overhaul, which will eventually include multiple new rides, restaurants and entrance experience. If Club Cool was a must stop for you while visiting Disney World, you can still taste test different soda flavors at the Coca-Cola store located in Disney Springs. The store offers an "International Tray" option, which features 16 sodas from across the globe. Yes, that includes the Beverly flavor.
