The Chainsmokers Surprise Fans with Lennon Stella During Intimate LA Show

103.5 KISS FM's Jingle Ball 2017 - SHOW

The Chainsmokers are ready to take North America by storm! However, before they do, the band made sure to drop by the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles to perform an exclusive and intimate show featuring hits from their new album, World War Joy. The event, hosted by KIIS FM's Alex Gervasi, featured tons of new songs like their collab with Bebe Rexha "Call You Mine,"and "Who Do You Love" featuring Five Seconds of Summer mixed in with classic hits, as well as a special guest performance from Lennon Stella.

As of 2019, the Grammy winning artist has a ton to celebrate as they are now the highest paid DJ's - an incredible feat. So, this year, they'll be spending a lot of time on the road visiting fans by kicking off their tour in Cincinnati and wrapping up about December.

"We're just really feeling it right now so it's going to be an amazing show. We've got all sorts of surprises and I know we come from the DJ world, but this is going to be like the energy of the DJ show but like the production of a Drake show." says Alex Pall. The tour is expected to rack up around $6 million in production granting us a show like no other.

5SOS will also be joining The Chainsmokers alongside Lennon Stella during their upcoming tour. When asked how it's been working in studio with such a versatile mixture of artists, they chalked it up to the acceptance of the times we're living in.

"We came up via DJ'ing and dance music, but we've always been such big fans of every genre. So we're really lucky to exist at a time when people are down to hear collaborations and hear you step outside of your genre and work with a country artist or a hip hop artist. So we've had a lot of fun doing that and we're like huge fans of everyone we've worked with so we go in there and try not to be star struck."

Not surprisingly, the artist who evoked that - Coldplay's Chris Martin.

"He like comes in and he's so Chris Martin."

On working with Bebe Rexha, they recalled the times that the band initially partnered up 7 years ago.

"We did a song writing session in 2012 with Bebe and it was the first time we'd ever done a song writing session with an artist." They add, "We we're like talking sh-t to each other a little bit because we were both young and trying to see who's cooler. I told her 'I'm not signing a record deal or a publishing deal until we have a hit song.'"

"Pssh! That's never going to happen," Drew recalled Rexha jokingly stating. "She said to me, 'I have a song that Rihanna and Eminem are going to do.'"

Sure enough Bebe Rexha went on to creates the smashing hit "Monster."

The Chainsmokers Perform “Takeaway” Featuring Lennon Stella

Their new tour kicks off September 25th and will make show of the groups internal push towards serenity.

"The 'World War Joy Tour' is named after our current album that we are still finishing called World War Joy. The whole concept about the name is, you know, we've been through a lot over the past couple of years and I feel like we found ourselves in the state of chaos. But, we're also living a life that we dreamed of living. So, we're constantly pushing ourselves, we're constantly in a battle with ourselves, with ourselves' identity — who we can be as artists, trying to find the best life for one another. And at the same time, it's the best time ever. We felt like 'World War Joy' kind of summarized how we feel about everything right now."
