10-Year-Old Takes Own Life After Relentless Bullying

Kevin Reese, Jr., a 10-year-old from Katy, Texas, has taken his own life after relentless bullying from kids at school.

"I never thought it would go this far, never," Kevin's mom, Crystal Smith said. "I'm still in disbelief, and it's taken me a while to actually accept the fact that this happened. Kevin was a goofy child. I just thought he was handling the situations. They wrote on his tablet to 'kill yourself. You don't belong here.'" He came home crying after a fight in November. "He came home crying because he didn't fight back and one of the boys punched him several times during recess," she said to 6ABC.

Kevin's 13-year-old sister found him hanging in his closet.

Crystal added, "Pay attention to your child. Don't assume things are being handled at the school. Stay on top of it until you see something come out on the end."
