Additional snowfall is set to blanket the DMV region as a Winter Weather Advisory is issued by the National Weather Service taking effect 7pm Monday through 10am Tuesday morning.
According to the NWS, a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations could be upwards of two inches. There also exists the possibility of one to two-tenths of an inch of ice.
You should be prepared for hazardous road conditions as today's rain has mostly washed away any treatment that was dropped on the roadway prior to the first round from this storm Sunday night. Slippery conditions will impact the evening and morning commutes.
