After years of writing the "Perfect" (pun intended) love songs for couples to dance to at their weddings, Ed Sheeran has his own wedding to think about now, because the 26-year-old revealed that he is engaged to his longtime love Cherry Seaborn.
Ed revealed the exciting news via Instagram with a Polaroid photo of him sweetly kissing her, and in the caption announced that they got engaged right before New Year's. He wrote, "Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx."
But who really is Cherry Seaborn? We know that Ed wrote 'Perfect' because he was inspired by them listening to their favorite song (Future's 'March Madness') while barefoot on the grass. But what else do you we really know about her?
- She's 25 years old. According to her biography on Duke University website, Cherry was born on May 6, 1992. The UK native moved to the United States to attend the North Carolina-based college due to its notable hockey team.
- She met Ed Sheeran in high school. The couple first crossed passed at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk. Cherry was a hockey player at the school, and Ed reportedly had a crush on her.
- She quit her job to fall in love. In 2017, Ed revealed that he took a break from music in 2016 to pursue his relationship with Cherry, and she did the same for him. "We were just basically like, let's quit our jobs and have a year of forming a tight bond," he shared, adding, "So we went traveling and spent every day for a year together."
