Police Officer Hit on I-270 in Maryland

During a police chase for a stolen car from the Montgomery Village area just after midnight on Thursday morning, a police officer was struck on I-270 while in search for the suspects who fled the scene. 

ABC7 news reported that the officer was standing in the southbound lanes by Route 121 when he was hit and was taken by helicopter to the nearest hospital. The officer was not hit by either of the suspects involved with the stolen car chase and charges are currently pending on the civilian who did the action.

The Montgomery County Police announced via Twitter that the officer is ok and does not have any serious injuries.
