Samsung Explains Why The Galaxy Note 7 Exploded

Samsung held a live forum on YouTube to explain why they recalled the Galaxy Note 7. According to the company, there were two separate recalls that resulted in the full recall of the device after numerous reports of fires and explosions.

In the first recall, Samsung revealed there was a battery flaw where a "negative electrode was deflected in the upper-right corner of the battery" and the "tip of the negative electrode was incorrectly located in the curve of the battery cell.

There was a second recall that dealt primarily with manufacturing issues including a problem with the way the insulation tape was installed and subsequently damaged and another where the insulation tape was missing altogether.

Samsung announced that they are committed to the Galaxy Note line of phones and that a Galaxy Note 8 is on the way.
