Surprising news from Ringling Bros. tonight as Feld Entertainment announces that the circus, billed as "The Greatest Show On Earth", will end in May after 146 years.
According to the head of Feld Entertainment, Kenneth Feld, there isn't any one reason being quoted for the closure, rather a combination of events ranging from animal rights to lower attendance to shorter attention spans of children today.
The Circus informed their employees after shows Saturday night in Orlando and Miami.
Ringling Bros. Circus will be in the Baltimore and Washington, DC area for several shows at Royal Farms Arena, Verizon Center and EagleBank Arena beginning at the end of March.
