This is indeed a sad day. The AMERICAN RADIO ICON Casey Kasem passed after a lengthy illness. He was 82.


He was the original host of the American Top 40 countdown. He was the voice of Shaggy - a character on Scooby Doo, the cartoon about a scooby-snack eating dog.


He was a father, a husband and a mentor, not to mention the model emulated by countless other radio presenters who have made a living 'counting things down,' including the Rick Dees and Ryan Seacrest. 




But he was more than a voice on Scooby Doo. His voice-over credits read much like the script for his countdown would have read, with so many hit performances which no doubt so many remember...
